CANUCKS 4 OILERS 3

1st game of the pre-season is done and the canucks won :) that’s a good sign considering the canucks played their C lineup against the the oilers’ B+ lineup (most of the oilers that dressed were regulars). 

anyways, the canucks are playing again tonight at 7pm on sportsnet pacific, and cody hodgson, the canucks first round pick from this year’s draft will be playing his first real game as a canuck! 

so with the season on the cusp of starting, be sure to join the hockey pool if you haven’t already Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey ’09 – draft day’s this saturday at 7pm!

Hockey Season

Hockey season is right around the corner – training camp is set to get under way not too long from now and the puck officially drops October 9th! That’s only 28 days away!!

I gotta say though that like some you guys, I’m not as excited as I normally am for the upcoming season. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited and always will be. But with the departure of key guys like Nazzy and Mo (and now Brad Isbister too!) I’m actually feeling more uncertain as a result.

It almost feels as though I’m back to the way I felt in the summer of ’06 before Lui came to town, not expecting anything out of this team. If they make it to the playoffs this year, it’ll be considered a successful season (to me at least).

And ever since Brian got the hockey pool (sign up for it here – just make an account and then go here) for the 08-09 season up and running I’ve been getting more and more into the hockey mood. It’s getting really boring seeing half an hour’s worth of baseball highlights every night on Connected. Poor Donny Taylor having to talk about it every night.

As for actually playing hockey, I’ve kinda started itching for that again – nothing beats FREE FUN :) Just gotta get new wheels and maybe some new pads?

Anyways it’s time to get my ass ready for school!
